Clean Up
Prior to clean up, document all damage with detailed photos. This will be needed for reimbursement. DO NOT WASH HIGH WATER MARKS FROM OUTSIDE WALLS. This is needed for damage assessment crews. This is applicable to homes and businesses.
The County has set up a hotline to connect volunteers with anyone needing help with cleanup. Call the Crisis Clean Up Hotline at 844-965-1386
Make sure when placing debris curbside to separate household/construction items from yard waste and vegetation. Create separate piles.
Beaches
Access to the beaches remains closed as rescue operations and clean up of Gulf Boulevard continues. There is no indication of when the bridges will reopen for access.
Beach access are closed and it is requested you do not go onto the beach until its has been cleared.
Electric Vehicles
If you have any type of electric vehicles (cars, golf carts, ebikes) that made contact with salt water, do not start them. Remove them 50 feet away from any structure as they can spontaneously ignite and cause a fire. If you have cars that can’t be towed or pushed, please contact the county at 727-464-4333.
Cooling/Charging Stations
A cooling station has been set up at Madeira Beach City Hall for those who remained on the barrier island. There is also phone charging capability. It will be open 8:00 am til Sunset daily.
Unlicensed Contractors
Beware of unlicensed contractors and unethical people. Do not hand over large prepayments for services and check licensing at 727-582-3100 Option 2
